Dunkin' Donuts!

The donuts are the typical American dessert and if you go to USA, you can’t avoid to stop at the Dunkin’ Donuts for a donut and a cup of coffee. The Donut is a deep-fried from a flour dough, shaped in rings and it can contain topping or filligs of jelly, chocolate, sugar, ecc. You can find them at bakeries, supermarkets, food stalls or fun fairs. When we go to United States we have to get a donuts with  a cup of coffee at the Dunkin’ Donuts, it is the only reastaurant which stay open after the Boston Maraton, because the police officers can’t live
without donuts. William Rosenberg founded Dunkin’ Donuts in Massachusetts in 1950. It servers 5 million customers for day, they have 70 varieties of donuts. Also in Italy there are a few shop opened in the summer of 1999 in Rome. It was for tourists when they were visiting the Trevi fountain or when they arrive at Roma Termini. Unfortunately, the shops closed a couple of years later.

Superstition - Numerology - Color

SUPERSTITIONS
Superstitions are beliefs created by ancient populations and they allude future events. In my town we have so many superstitions like:
1. Break a mirror, in practice if you break it, you break your spirit and you'll have seven years of unlucky things;
2. Break a bottle of oil, in the past the oil was very expensive for family, it was almost a wealth and if you broke it you were unlucky.
3. An another superstitions is the legend of number 17, in roman number 17 was XVII, it is the anagram of VIXI, and it means 'death'.
There are some popular superstitions, but that really stuck me is the one who speaks about Albinos. In Borneo, Africa, it is believed that Albinos are all white because their real dad is the moon; more depressingly, Albino body parts are considered to be magical amulets, and they are often murdered in an effort to acquire them. I don't belive in superstitions, seem legends, I don't like legends and for this I have never experienced anything.

MY LUCKY NUMBER

Number: March 16th, 1999= 3+1+6+1+9+9+9= 38= 3+8= 11= 1+1= 2.
38= This is the symbol of dangers, conflicts and troubles that are the consequence of low self-confidence. The help from a woman is possible.
16= This number points to many difficult decisions. There are many negative waves around this
number that also cause problems in the surroundings. There is the possibility of accidents, disasters,
dangers, etc.11= This number brings a lot of temptations and dangers. There is often a conflict between the people's
interests and they cannot manage their problems effectively.
2= This number symbolizes opposition and conflicts. It is the number that involves threats. In
ancient times, this number pointed to the Mother and represented the female principle. It represents
reciprocity, negation and division like in the following examples: black - white, male - female, material -
spiritual, etc.

FAVOURITE COLOR

Blue is the coolest and most calming of all the colors. As the color of the sky, it has been used since ancient times to represent heaven. In classical mythology, blue was the color associated with the Gods, Venus and Jupiter. In Christianity, it becomes the symbol of the Virgin Mary as Queen of Heaven. As the color of the ocean, it is also suggests qualities like freshness, purity and hygiene. The calmness of blue is seldom more visible than in this 'nocturne' of the River Thames by Whistler. The view is at twilight from Battersea looking across the Chelsea. The style is strongly influence by Japanese art of 'ukiyo-e' which translates as 'pictures of the floating world'.

THE HUNGER GAMES - summary.

The movie had a setting in a future, here Panem is divided into 13 districts, all poor, the thirteenth district destroyed. Katniss Everdeen is the protagonist, she lives in the twelfth district, with her mum and her sister, Primerose, and his friend Gale. Every year one boy and one girl (from twelve to eighteen years) are drawn to partecipate at the Hunger Games, they must fight and one of them will be the winner and never partecipated again at the games. For Prime, Katniss's sister is the first year and unfortunatly she was drawn but Kat offered herself as volunteer; while for the boys Peeta Mellark is drawn. The two guys talk and train, they are helped by Maymitch, one of the winner of twelfth district. They will do many interviews and in one of these Peeta confess his love for Katniss.
They fight in an arena, a lot of partecipants die and Peeta and Kat pretend to love each other helped from the sponsor. In the end just two guys stay, because two people from own district could win. But it's not so: one, now is the winner, so Katniss and Peeta decided to die together, when they are going to embitter them, the end of the games is announced and they win, They turn back home and pretend to love each other, but Peeta is really in love.

School trip!☺

9th Dicember 2013, Monday.

Dear Louis,
on Dicember 9th, my classmate, my English teachers and me left from Mondragone to go to Caserta. There we watched the Beatles' musical. My teacher Esterina La Torre organize it, it was a fantastic idea. We arrived in Caserta at 10.30 a.m., then we came into the theatre and at 11.15 a.m. the musical started. It was very funny, the actors/singers were very good and young (also handsome), When the musical finished the boys answered at ours question: 'How old are you?', 'Where did you come?', 'What is your favourite italian food?' and 'What is your favourite Beatles' song?'.
My favourite songs were 'Please Please me', 'Hey Jude', 'Yellow submarine' and 'All you need is love'.
It lasted two hours, then we went out and we ate so fast, because we had to get the bus for turning back in Mondragone. At 3.00 o' clock p.m. we were already at home for studying. ☹

Nelson Mandela's death.

South Africans and people from all over the world are mourning the death of Nelson Mandela. In South Africa, thousands of people gathered in Johannesburg and Soweto to say goodbye to their country's first ever black president. They danced, sang, cried and prayed for the man they loved. Mr Mandela died aged 95 on Thursday after months of illness. South Africa's President Jacob Zuma broke the news of Mr Mandela's death in a late-night speech on TV. Mr Zuma said: "Our nation has lost its greatest son." Mr Mandela spent most of his life campaigning for equal rights in South Africa.

He spent 27 years in jail before becoming South Africa's president in 1994.
Leaders from all over the world heaped praise on Mr Mandela. His long-time friend Archbishop Desmond Tutu said: "God was so good to us in South Africa by giving us Nelson Mandela." US President Barack Obama said: "He achieved more than could be expected of any man. Today, he has gone home." UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called him "a giant for justice and a down-to-earth human inspiration". He added: "Nelson Mandela showed what is possible for our world and within each one of us if we believe, dream and work together for justice and humanity." British Prime Minister David Cameron tweeted: "Nelson Mandela was a hero of our time. A great light has gone out in the world."
